Making Weaknesses your Strengths when Launching your Business, with Allison Axdorff

Episode 24 – Making Weaknesses your Strengths when Launching your Business, with Allison Axdorff

While focusing on her career in eCommerce and Marketing, Allison rediscovered her passion for music and movement. In 2019, she took a leap and opened Upbeats fitness studio, empowering women through music-driven group fitness.

Allison is on a mission to make being active fun and sustainable through music and movement. Here’s how Allison got started in fitness:

I taught group fitness classes on the weekends and in the evenings. The formats I taught were music driven and focused on having fun rather than needing a six pack or burning calories. While my classes did well, it always felt like there needed to be a space that celebrated and was dedicated to these types of formats. I dreamed about the idea for many years and then finally decided to pursue it in 2018.

What we cover in this episode:

  • how to pivot brilliantly when business doesn’t go to plan
  • the unexpected positive results of experiencing hiccups when getting your business off the ground
  • why your “weaknesses” can actually be your greatest strengths in building your brand
  • the secret to success in your business (hint: it’s much more than hitting revenue goals)
